For certified divers we offer all levels of the existing PADI and DAN Programs. For brief descriptions, see below. We offer various packages for those who want to improve their dive skills, such as the "Safe Diver", "Eco Diver" and "Dive Rescue" Packages. For more information on those, go to "Course Packages".
We can help you achieve your goal of becoming a competent and all-round diver by working towards your PADI Master Scuba Diver rating. If youŽre already an Advanced Open Water Diver you can take advantage of our "Master Scuba Diver" Package. For more details go to the section "Master Scuba Diver".
PADI Adventures in Diving Program
This program will give you a much broader base of experience whilst doing your "Adventure Dives". Under the guidance of a PADI Instructor you will be introduced to specialty areas in diving, such as Deep Diving, Underwater Navigation and for example Multilevel Diving, Drift Diving, Underwater Photography, etc. It will increase your awareness, safety and fun in diving! DonŽt think you are not experienced enough to do Adventure Dives, ideally you would start this program immediately after your Open Water Diver Course! With any three Adventure Dives you can already get certified as a PADI Adventure Diver.
PADI Advanced Open Water Diver
To become a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver you need to complete five Adventure Dives: the Deep Dive and the Underwater Navigation Dive are the two core dives, the other three dives can be any of the other fourteen Adventure Dives that are available. We canŽt do all of them here in Huatulco, but depending on your interests we can figure out which ones you would do. As an Advanced Open Water Diver you would be able to do any of the PADI Specialty Courses you are interested in, as well as the PADI Rescue Diver Course and continue your quest of becoming a PADI Master Scuba Diver.
PADI Specialty Diver
When you are interested in learning more about, for example Night Diving, you can do a Specialty Course with us and learn and practice how to safely conduct night dives. Specialty Courses are really a lot of fun, pursuing your own particular interests in diving. They also help you to become a safer and more confident diver. Below youŽll see a list of the PADI Specialty Courses we have available. The various Specialty Courses have different amounts of dives and/or prerequisites, for more information click on the button "Course Details" below.
Non-diving Specialty Course we offer are:
Oxygen First Aid
Coral Reef Conservation
PADI Rescue Diver
As an Advanced Open Water Diver you will be able to participate in the PADI Rescue Diver Course with us and become even more confident and relaxed while diving because you know you will be able to prevent, recognize and solve situations that otherwise could become a problem for you or your buddy. The Rescue Course means three to four days of learning and practicing rescue techniques, knowledge development and a whole lot of fun! To become a certified Rescue Diver you will need to be current in Medic First Aid and CPR, if you are not, don't worry, you can do that course with us as well. We also offer a "Dive Rescue" Package with the courses you need, in our opinion, to become a complete and competent Rescue Diver. For details go to the chapter "Dive Packages".
PADI Emergency First Response
This one day course is for divers and non-divers alike. YouŽll learn the basics of Medic First Aid as well as CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), which can also be done as two separate courses. Optional skills that can be learned are the use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) and Emergency Oxygen. Having completed a course with Medic First Aid and CPR is a requirement for the Rescue Diver and all professional level PADI courses. A Refresher is required every two years to keep current, of course you can do that with us as well.
DAN Courses and Programs
DAN Oxygen First Aid for Scuba Injuries
As a diver you know that oxygen is the most important first aid feature in the unlikely event of a diving incident. Therefore every diver should learn how to handle oxygen and how to provide it to fellow divers. That is exactly what this DAN Course does, providing you with the theoretical knowledge necessary as well as hands on training and practice.
DAN Oxygen First Aid for Aquatic Emergencies
This course is very similar to the course mentioned above. In this case the course is not designed specifically for divers, but for anybody around water, pool owners, boat crews, snorkel guides, etc. It focuses on providing oxygen first aid after near drowning incidents rather than scuba injuries.
First Aid for Hazardous Marine Life Injuries
although you have a far greater chance of being struck by lightning or killed by a falling coconut, than being attacked by a marine creature, itŽs always good to be prepared. In this course youŽll learn how to provide first aid in the case of somebody being bitten or stung and youŽll learn how to treat a person whoŽs been exposed to poison from marine life. The good thing is that part of the course is recognizing potentially dangerous aquatic life and thus being able to prevent ever having to use these first aid skills on yourself!
Other PADI Courses and Programs
PADI Discover Snorkeling
As the name suggests itŽs an introduction into snorkeling for those whoŽve never tried it before. YouŽll learn some basic snorkeling techniques and do a snorkel tour in a shallow, protected bay with an amazing amount of coral and colorful fish. An ideal program to introduce your kids to the wonders of the underwater world or even for less confident snorkelers who like to be guided by a PADI Professional.
PADI Skin Diver Course
For those who want to actually dive down and have a closer look at the underwater world, without all the hassle of scuba diving. YouŽll learn how to dive down effortlessly, avoiding discomfort in your ears and practice ways to stay underwater much longer than you probably think you can! It is a fun course designed for everybody who can swim, diver or not, and there are lots of people who enjoy it more than scuba diving!
PADI Scuba Review
If you havenŽt been diving for a while itŽs always a good idea to refresh your diving skills and theoretical knowledge with this "tune up" program. With a PADI Professional youŽll review the dive theory from the PADI Open Water Diver Course and youŽll spend some time in confined water practicing the most important diving skills. After completion of the Scuba Review we can take you for a couple of easy and shallow dives to really get back into it again.
PADI Discover Local Diving
Basically designed to get to know the local dive sites, diving conditions and of course, where to find the interesting stuff. YouŽll be guided by a PADI Professional who will give you a thorough dive briefing and explain everything you would like and need to know to dive the area yourself.
