Survey Results

We continuously look for ways to improve our service. With that objective in mind, we email a questionnaire or survey to everybody that has gone out with us, whether it was to dive, to snorkel or participate in another activity. We have done that since 2001 and below you'll see the questions we ask and a summary of the answers we received between 2001 and 2005.

The questions we ask are:

1.- How do you view our overall customer service?

2.- How do you rate the safety aspects of our service?

3.- What do you think of our equipment (boat, diving equipment, etc.)?

4.- What do you think of our prices?

5.- Only for "All-Day Excursions": what did you think of the picnic lunch?

6.- What´s your opinion of the diving and/or snorkeling in Huatulco?

7.- How did you like  Huatulco?

 

We give three options to answer, which basically are: "poor", "ok" or "excellent".

So far we have received 177 answered surveys, of which 40% were from Americans and Canadians, 35% from Mexicans, 19% from Europeans and 6% from other nationalities. From those 8% were snorkelers, 10% did an introduction into scuba diving, 18% did a diving course with us and 65% simply came diving.

*Note: in the past the rented boat(s) we used were the main factor for people not answering "excellent" here. Since we have our own boat, especially adapted for diving, the the percentage for "excellent" has gone up significantly!

As you can see, there is really a very low percentage rating something "poor". I think we can safely say that the big majority were (or are)  happy with Hurricane Divers and like Huatulco and its underwater world. With a complicated formula I have worked out a score based on a scale of 1 to 10. Hurricane Divers would get a score of 8.3 and Huatulco would score an 8.0, based on the survey.

Here is an example of the positive comments we receive regularly with our survey answers:

1.- How do you view our overall customer service?

"Nata, Ken, and Ernesto all worked very hard to make our dives and excursion a pleasant experience. They did a great job of overcoming my wife's near phobia of water during her Discover Scuba class. I will recommend your outfit to anyone going to Huatulco and we will dive/excursion with you again. I've also submitted a report (all positive) to Undercurrents magazine for publication in their Travelin' Diver's Chapbook. Thanks for a great vacation!"

2.- How do you rate the safety aspects of our service?

"It was nice to always have someone in the boat while divers were underwater, and always have oxygen equipment on board. I was well briefed before each dive, and felt that our guides were always attentive to us underwater. Surface intervals were observed and each dive was well planned."

3.- What do you think of our equipment (boat, diving equipment, etc.)?

"I was impressed to see the Scuba Pro gear -- I've always read to be wary of dive operators equipment, and it all appeared to be top notch. Your boat was well designed for its purpose and ran well. I couldn't be happier with it."

4.- What do you think of our prices?

"I've very little experience with dive operators, but I feel that the price we paid for the service we received was money well spent."

5.- Only for "All-Day Excursions": what did you think of the picnic lunch?

"The quality and quantity of food was beyond my wildest expectations. It was sumptuous in every aspect and plentiful. I was particularly impressed with your efforts to cater to the vegetarian family that accompanied Jennifer and I on the all day excursion."

6.- What´s your opinion of the diving and/or snorkeling in Huatulco?

"I've logged in the neighborhood of 250 dives, but all in fresh water. This was my first salt water experience, and it was outstanding. Ken and Nata are quite competent divers, and cheerfully answered my hundreds of questions about this aquatic environment. They both worked hard to ensure that everyone on each dive got what they wanted from the experience."

7.- How did you like  Huatulco?

"We will be back next year."
